And the children of Yisra’ĕl continued from Rephiḏim and they camped in the Wilderness of Sinai, in the third month of their going out from Mitsrayim.
At that time Re’uw’ĕl the Miḏyanite, the father-in-law of Mosheh, came with Tsipporah his daughter and her two sons, for he had heard of the wonders of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 which He had done to Yisra’ĕl, that He had delivered them from the hand of Mitsrayim.
And Re’uw’ĕl came to Mosheh to the wilderness where he was encamped, where the mountain of Elohim was.
And Mosheh went out to meet his father-in-law with great honour, and all Yisra’ĕl was with him.
And Re’uw’ĕl and his children remained among the Yisra’ĕlites for many days, and Re’uw’ĕl knew from 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 then onward.
And in the third month from the children of Yisra’ĕl’s departure from Mitsrayim, on the sixth day thereof, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 gave to Yisra’ĕl the Ten Words on Mount Sinai.
And all Yisra’ĕl heard all these Commands, and all Yisra’ĕl rejoiced exceedingly in 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 on that day.
And the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 rested on Mount Sinai, and He called to Mosheh, and Mosheh came in the midst of a cloud and went up the mountain.
And Mosheh was upon the mountain forty days and forty nights; he ate no bread and drank no water, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 instructed him in the Laws and Right-Rulings in order to teach the children of Yisra’ĕl.
And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 wrote the Ten Words which He had commanded the children of Yisra’ĕl upon two tablets of stone, which He gave to Mosheh to command the children of Yisra’ĕl.
And at the end of forty days and forty nights, when 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had finished speaking to Mosheh on Mount Sinai, then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 gave to Mosheh the tablets of stone, written with the finger of Elohim.
And when the children of Yisra’ĕl saw that Mosheh was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aharon, and said, “As for this man Mosheh, we do not know what has become of him.
“Now therefore rise up, make for us a mighty one who shall go before us, so that you shall not die.”
And Aharon was greatly afraid of the people, and he ordered them to bring him gold, and he made it into a moulded calf for the people.
And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Mosheh, before he had come down from the mountain, “Get down, for your people whom you brought out from Mitsrayim have corrupted themselves.
“They have made for themselves a moulded calf, and have bowed down to it. Now therefore leave me, that I may consume them from off the earth, for they are a stiff-necked people!”
And Mosheh sought the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and he prayed to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 for the people for the sake of the calf which they had made. And afterward he went down from the mountain and in his hands were the two tablets of stone, which Elohim had given him to Command the Yisra’elites.
And when Mosheh approached the camp and saw the calf which the people had made, the wrath of Mosheh was kindled and he broke the tablets at the foot of the mountain.
And Mosheh came to the camp and he took the calf and burned it with fire, and ground it till it became fine dust, and scattered it upon the water and gave it to the Yisra’ĕlites to drink.
And there died of the people by the swords of each other about three thousand men who had made the calf.
And on the next day Mosheh said to the people, “I will go up to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, if I might make atonement for your sins which you have sinned against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.”
And Mosheh again went up to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and he remained with 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 forty days and forty nights.
And during the forty days Mosheh entreated 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 on behalf of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 listened to the prayer of Mosheh, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 was entreated by him on behalf of Yisra’ĕl.
Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mosheh to hew two stone tablets and to bring them up to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, who would write on them the Ten Words.
Now Mosheh did so, and he came down and hewed the two tablets and went up to Mount Sinai to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 wrote the Ten Words on the tablets.
And Mosheh remained with 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 forty days and forty nights, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 instructed him in Laws and Right-Rulings to give to Yisra’ĕl.
And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded him regarding the children of Yisra’ĕl that they should make a Miqdash for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, that His Name might rest therein. And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 showed him the likeness of the Miqdash and the likeness of all its utensils.
And at the end of the forty days, Mosheh came down from the mountain and the two tablets were in his hand.
And Mosheh came to the children of Yisra’ĕl and spoke to them all the Words of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and he taught them Torot, Laws and Right-Rulings which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had taught him.
And Mosheh told the children of Yisra’ĕl the Word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, that a Miqdash should be made for Him, to dwell among the children of Yisra’ĕl.
And the people rejoiced greatly at all the good which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had spoken to them, through Mosheh, and they said, “We will do all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has spoken to you.”
And the people rose up as one man and they made generous offerings for the Miqdash of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and each man brought the offering of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 for the work of the qodesh place, and for all its service.
And each man of all the children of Yisra’ĕl brought of all that was found in his possession for the work of the qodesh place of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, gold, silver and brass, and every matter that was of service for the qodesh place.
And all the wise men who were skilled in work came and made the Miqdash of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, according to all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded, every man in the work in which he was skilled. And all the wise-hearted men made the Miqdash, and its furnishings and all the utensils for the qodesh service, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Mosheh.
And the work of the qodesh place of the Mishkan was completed at the end of five months, and the children of Yisra’ĕl did all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Mosheh.
And they brought the Miqdash and all its furnishings to Mosheh. According to the likeness which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had shown to Mosheh, so the children of Yisra’ĕl did.
And Mosheh saw the work, and see, they did it as had 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded him, so Mosheh baraḵ them.
