To Our Forefathers Yisrael
The vision of Ovadyah. This says 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 Ahlohim concerning Edom; We have heard a report from 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 and an ambassador is sent among the goyim, Arise and let us rise up against him in battle.
Behold, I have made you small among the goyim: you are greatly despised.
The pride of your lev has deceived you, you that dwell in the clefts of the rock, whose dwelling is high; that says in his lev, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
Though you exalt yourself as the eagle and though you set your nest among the cochavim, even from there will I bring you down, says 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
If thieves came to you, if robbers by lyla, how cut off you’d be! Would they not have stolen until they had enough? If the grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some grapes?
How are the things of Esav searched out! How are his hidden things sought for!
All the men of your confederacy have brought you even to the border: the men that were at shalom with you have deceived you and prevailed against you; they that eat your lechem have laid an ambush under you: there is no binah in him.
Shall I not in that yom, says 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, even destroy the wise men out of Edom and binah out of the har of Esav?
And your mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that everyone of the har of Esav may be cut off by slaughter.
Because of your chamas against your brother Yaakov, shame shall cover you and you shall be cut off le-olam-va-ed.
In the yom that you stood on the other side, in the yom that the gerim carried away captive his forces and foreigners entered into his gates and cast lots upon Yahrushalayim, even you were as one of them.
But you should not have looked for the yom of your brother’s disaster, in the yom that he became a ger; neither should you have rejoiced over the children of Yahudah in the yom of their destruction; neither should you have spoken proudly in the yom of distress.
You should not have entered into the gate of My people in the yom of their calamity; yes, you should not have looked idly by upon their affliction in the yom of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their wealth in the yom of their calamity;
Neither should you have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither should you have delivered up those of his that did remain in the yom of distress.
For the Yom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 is near upon all the goyim: as you have done, it shall be done to you: your reward shall return upon your own head.
For as you have drunk upon My kadosh har, so shall all the goyim drink continually, yes, they shall drink and they shall swallow down and they shall be as though they had not been.
But upon Har Tzion shall be deliverance and there shall be set apartness; and Beit Yaakov shall possess their possessions, and those who possess them.
And Beit Yaakov shall be a fire and Beit Yoseph the flame and Beit Esav for stubble and they shall kindle them and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of Beit Esav; for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has spoken it.
And they of the south shall possess the Har of Esav; and they of the plain the Plishtim: and they shall possess the fields of Efrayim and the fields of Shomron: and Benyamin shall possess Gilad.
And the captivity of this host of the children of Yisrael shall possess that of the Kanaanites, even to Tzarfat; and the captivity of Yahrushalayim, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
And saviors shall come up on Har Tzion to judge the har of Esav; and the malchut shall be 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄’s. Ahmein
